Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH) has signed a deal with Keverton Outdoor Heating to outfit its South Australian and Tasmanian hotels with Infratube infrared heaters.
The deal follows the success of Infratube installations in ALH hotels in Queensland and Victoria, and in a number of ALH hotels in NSW.
“Obviously our customers need heating outside with new smoking restrictions, and we were looking for a cost-friendly product,” said ALH operations manager – South Australia, Andrew Gunn. “And also they are 100 percent weather proof. We are in a situation in South Australia where [legislation requires] none of smoking rooms can be covered, so the heaters have to remain outside all of the time.”
Manufactured in California by Infratech USA, the Infratube heating system is powered by a quartz infratube electric element that is not affected by wind.
“Due to the fact the heaters reach full capacity in just 90 seconds, ALH venues have installed motion sensors to the heaters in designated smoking areas,” said Keverton Outdoor director — Asia Pacific, Kevin Smith.
“This allows smoking patrons the ability to enjoy a cigarette in comfort for a pre-set period of time, without the hassle of staff having to constantly remember to turn heaters on and off,” he said.
Keverton Outdoor is the exclusive distributor of Infratube heaters in Australia.
