Melbourne Bar Guide Application Created for iPhone

An insider’s guide to Melbourne’s best bars has jumped on the technology bandwagon by creating an iPhone application version of its guide.

The ‘Deck of Secrets: Bar Secrets Melbourne’ went live on iTunes globally on Saturday.

“This is the biggest thing my company has ever done since the release of the bar guide in 2003,” said publisher Michelle Matthews. “The application version does everything that the regular guide does, plus a heap of great other features.”

The new application features GPS and Google Maps, allowing the user to see exactly where each bar is and get directions to it; the ability to call or access the venue’s website venue straight from the phone, and the ability to send an invitation to others to meet at the bar.

Matthews said that the guide would be frequently updated as new bars open.

Bar Secrets Melbourne is the first of the Deck of Secrets guides to get the iPhone application treatment. It will be soon followed with applications for other cities in the series, including Bar Secrets London, Bar Secrets Dublin and Bar Secrets Sydney.
