Akuna Blue and Akuna Gold

Akuna Brewery is pleased to announce the release of two refreshingly different premium alcoholic ginger beers Akuna Blue and Akuna Gold.

With real ginger and lemon juice Akuna Blue has a refreshing hit and a surprisingly fresh flavour. Akuna Gold is a spicy drop and manages to refresh whilst giving a warming glow. Both beers are 4.2 per cent ABV, preservative free, brewed with real ginger. Akuna Blue and Gold are currently available throughout NSW via ILG and soon to be available in other states.

Akuna Brewery started brewing in 2005 at Mona Vale on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia and quickly attracted a good local following as word spread. As the industry began to expand and micro brewed beer became more accessible, head brewer and owner Greg Facer wanted to develop something more unique and adventurous, to produce something refreshing and lively that actually had a taste of the Northern Beaches and represented the best of Australian life.

Greg and Ali Facer, owners of Akuna Brewery said, we are really excited about the feedback we have had so far. This is a niche growth category and we have managed to reach a whole new audience for this product with our contemporary packaging and fresh stylish image.

Ralph Kyte-Powell, Melbourne based connoisseur and wine writer seems to agree. His article on the Akuna products in March issue of Delicious magazine goes as far as to call this fresh new brew strangely addictive.

Head brewer Greg is thrilled to hear the great reviews as he has spent the last 12 months developing the beers and uses real ginger in the brewing process to achieve the spicy ginger glow of his flagship brews.
