Members of the Australian liquor industry have just one week left to cast their votes in the 2009 Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA), with the polls closing next Monday (Aug 31).
The Awards aim to recognise leading groups, individuals and brands within the on-and off-premise categories that have performed with distinction over the past 12 months.
This year has seen a record number of on-and off-premise voting across the board, with some of the categories still too close to call.
Awards for retail side include ‘Dark RTD of the Year’, ‘Craft Beer of the Year’ and ‘Best Marketed Wine’, while hotel and bar professionals, along with the supply side and their sales representatives the best venues are recognised for Awards such as ‘Best Cocktail Liqueur’, ‘Best Bar Team’ and ‘Best New Venue’.
The national spread of nominations coming in is a great sign of the strength of both the industry and the relationships between suppliers and customers.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 21, at the Darling Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sydney, in a Beach Party-themed event, which is already filling up fast.
