BarScan Offers On-Premise Data

A new service called BarScan aims to provide on-premise scan data from over 600 individual bars across Australia.

The service, which is being pioneered by liquor information and strategy consultants Swigg and industry-specific data management solution company LMG Marketing, draws insights from weekly and daily data for all categories - beer, wine, spirits and RTD's.

According to Swigg director, Daniel Yuncken, BarScan fills a critical gap in the market, interpreting sales data from behind the bars of venues across the country to create customised strategies for liquor marketers, salespeople and hospitality operators.

“After years of examining off-premise liquor sales in the retail market, BarScan has now opened up a world of possibility to fully understand the dynamics of the on-premise channel,” he said.

“It is rewarding to see so many people in the industry extremely excited about the BarScan service and there is clearly a huge demand for tangible on-premise information”.

BarScan enables suppliers and retailers to determine precisely what’s selling across the bar, where and when - complete with a breakdown of bar departments, days of the week, targeted SKUs and brands.
