Rockpool Rules the Roost

Newcomer Rockpool Bar scooped the pool at the second annual Time Out Bar Awards last night (Nov 24), scoring the gong for ‘Best Bar’ and Best Design’.

More than 300 people packed into Kings Cross’s Piano Room to see celebrity chef Neil Perry’s latest venue take home the awards.

Other notable wins for the evening included The Local Taphouse for ‘Best New Bar’ and Lotus for ‘Best Cocktail Bar’.

Bars&clubs magazine presented the award for ‘Best Bartender’ to industry great Marco Faraone.

“I don’t even know how this happened,” Faraone said. “I’ve been working in this industry for so long with so many great people. To be recognised is a great experience.”

The ‘Hall of Fame’ Award went to longstanding favourite Bayswater Brasserie.
