The Hospitality and Gaming Australasia (HGA) expo and conference has kicked off today (Apr 19) at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The two-day event will showcase new products and innovations, while the conference component will see some impressive keynote speakers addressing the trends and issues affecting the hospitality industry.
As part of the expo’s HGA Talks education series, Ross Greenwood, best known for his role as Nine Network’s business and finance editor, has today provided general managers, finance officers, CEOs, and owner operators helpful insights on how to secure finance post GFC.
HGA expo manager, Mary Bishop, said Ross’ involvement is representative of the calibre of talent secured as guest speakers for this year’s revitalised event.
“We’ve secured some high calibre speakers across a broad range of topics including renowned Gen X and Gen Y demographer, Mark McCrindle from McCrindle Research, Sean McGuire of Qantas who is responsible for the national icon’s Frequent Flyer program, and celebrity chef Justin North of Sydney’s Becasse restaurant,” Bishop said.
“I think what the industry needs post GFC is to get the full picture. So many are still finding their feet, we wanted to be forward thinking and involve the right people that would give this audience the right information. I think it will help expand a lot of people within the industry to think about what’s next.”
The HGA Talks series of education sessions will be held today and tomorrow, and the format of the program allows delegates to pick and choose from a range of sessions that are right for them.
