Fox Sports will make Australian television history when the Socceroos’ last home match before the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be broadcast live in 3D on Monday, May 24 from the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Foxtel iQ2 and Austar MyStar HD subscribers with a 3D ready television will be able to watch the game in 3D on a specially set-up, trial 3D channel (Channel 200) called Fox Sports 3D.
Coverage of the Australia versus New Zealand game will also screen on Fox Sorts 3HD (Channel 205) and Fox Sports 3 (Channel 503).
“As Australia’s leading sports broadcaster, Fox Sports is proud to be making history by delivering an Australian television first to viewers around the country,” said Fox Sport’s CEO, David Malone.
“This live and exclusive Socceroos 3D experience is Fox Sports next step in an on-going quest to take the sports broadcasting experience to exciting new levels for all Australian fans.”
Fox Sports will host a private VIP event at a still undisclosed venue in Sydney’s CBD to co coincide with the broadcast.
Coverage of the Socceroos’ farewell match against New Zealand will begin at 6.30pm with kick-off at 7.30pm.
