The finalists for the 2010 Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) have been named.
Widely regarded as the most respected awards nights in the industry, ALIA aims to recognise leading groups, individuals and brands within the on-and off-premise categories that have performed with distinction over the past 12 months.
Indicative of the enthusiastic and diverse nature of the liquor industry, a record number of votes have been cast from all across the country, resulting in one of the most tightly contested ALIAs to date.
Significant increases were especially noted in the Major Awards categories of ‘Supplier of the Year’ and ‘Bartender of the Year’, as well as the new categories of ‘Best Gaming Venue’ and ‘Sports Bar of the Year’ receiving phenomenal support.
The off-premise Liquor Awards and the on-premise Hotel, Bar & Club Awards categories will now be submitted to respective panels of key industry figures who will decide the winners. That data will then be submitted to our official auditor and sponsor, accounting firm Ernst & Young, who will verify all judging forms.
The winners will then be announced at the official Awards ceremony, to be held at under the Big Top at Luna Park, Sydney on Wednesday, October 20.
Co-hosted by TorchMedia, Coca-Cola Amatil and Intrust Super, this year’s ALIA will see the return of popular MC Larry Emdur in a carnival-themed event, complete with clowns, fairy-floss and some surprise entertainment.
