These days it takes more than a meat raffle to get customers through the doors and one Sydney hotel has returned to the classics to entice a wider variety of patrons.
The City Hotel is currently promoting both an Alice in Wonderland-inspired Afternoon Tease and a Date Club in May.
The Afternoon Tease, set to take place on Saturday May 14, will feature burlesque performances, a pop-up vintage market, and an extravagant high tea spread from 2pm-5pm.
Tickets are $25 with the inclusion of the afternoon high tea, or $10 tickets can be purchased for show viewing only.
The venue will also promote a speed-dating scene night that offers speed dating ‘for those who clearly don’t need it’.
The Date Club is set to begin at 7:30pm on Tuesday May 10 and promises to provide a maximum number of talking points to avoid the need for cheesy pick-up lines.
Tickets are $25 per person that includes food and drink.
“The hotel seeks to bring a new realm of events to the pub scene, proving themselves as a unique venue willing to accommodate all types of personalities and social scenes,” said a spokesperson for the City Hotel.
