A Melbourne-based microbrewery has been put up for sale this week.

3 Ravens Brewing Company, of Thornbury in the city's north, has put its brewing equipment up for auction on GraysOnline.

But an insider told TheShout that "business hasn't been better" for the brewer than in recent times and the brewery is not closing for good – merely looking for a new home and a new partner with with whom to carry on.

He said the sale aims to raise the capital to move the brewery from its current location – which has to be sold due to the dissolving of the original partnership that started 3 Ravens.

GraysOnline's Heath Burriss told TheShout that 3 Ravens is seeking about $160,000 for the whole plant.

The Thornbury office/warehouse that houses the brewery is currently up for sale separately with a $1.25 million asking price.

3 Ravens director Peter Fitzgerald did not respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, Dandenong-based brewery Arctic Fox is still on the market after an initial listing in March.

Selling agent Lee Panagiotidis told TheShout the brewer is seeking offers above $200,000 to buy the Arctic Fox brand and brewing equipment as a going concern.

He said the sale had arisen due to a partnership dispute.
