Asahi Beverages has confirmed the new Executive team, which will lead the alcohol division in Australia, which will operate under the Carlton & United Breweries name.

Earlier this month it was announced that the group was combining its two alcohol businesses of CUB and Asahi Premium Beverages, and that they would operate as CUB with the businesses set to be combined by Q4 2020.

Asahi Beverages Chairman, Peter Margin, said Asahi Beverages Oceania Region will be headed up by Group CEO Robert Iervasi, and operate three Business Divisions:

  • Asahi Lifestyle Beverages, the non-alcohol Business Division in Australia, headed up by CEO Stuart Roberts
  • Asahi Beverages New Zealand, New Zealand’s alcohol and non-alcohol Business Division, led by Andrew Campbell as CEO
  • Carlton & United Breweries, the alcohol Business Division in Australia, headed-up by CEO Peter Filipovic.

Following that announcement the company has now confirmed key leadership appointments at CUB, which will occur by October.

A spokesperson for CUB said the following appointment are taking place:

  • Peter Bingeman has been appointed to GM, Sales CUB
  • Michael Ritoli has been appointed to GM, CUB Premium Beverages
  • David Stingl has been appointed to GM, Fire & Earth Ventures (formerly known as ZX Ventures
  • Asha Skyring has been appointed to GM, Strategy & Analytics
  • Brian Phan will continue as GM, Marketing for CUB.

The spokesperson told The Shout: “The team, under the leadership of CUB CEO Peter Filipovic, will transition into their new roles by 1 October.

“We’re also pleased to announce that we will be creating a separate sales and marketing team at CUB, called CUB Premium Beverages. This team, to be led by Michael Ritoli, will be dedicated to the Cider, Spirits, RTDs, Wine and Seltzers portfolio.

“CUB’s Leadership Team will help us harness the strength of our expanded portfolio and partner with our customers to deliver long-term growth for their businesses.

“The team is looking forward to working with our colleagues across Asahi Beverages’ growing drinks business, which includes Asahi Lifestyle Beverages (non-alcoholic) and Asahi Beverages New Zealand.”

The merger of the CUB and Asahi Premium Beverages businesseses sees the creation of a strong portfolio of brands including Great Northern, Asahi Super Dry, Carlton Draught, Peroni, Pure Blonde, Mountain Goat, Pirate Life, 4Pines, Balter, Vodka Cruiser, Somersby Cider, Woodstock Bourbon and more.
