The Endeavour Group has announced the appointment of Julie Ryan, the former CEO of Retail Drinks Australia, to the role of Head of External Affairs and Sustainability.
Ryan will join the Endeavour Group in October 2020 following the announcement that current General Manager Group Service, Shane Tremble, will retire in 2021.
In a LinkedIn post about the appointment, Ryan said: “I will have the opportunity to build on Endeavour Drinks’ great relationships with customers, communities, regulators and government, and will also have responsibility for establishing a sustainability strategy outlining how Endeavour Drinks activates and develops the positive role it plays throughout Australia.
“This is an amazing business with so many exciting things happening, what a privilege to join a team of this calibre.”
Steve Donohue, Managing Director Endeavour Group, welcomed Ryan to the Group saying he was looking forward to having someone with her experience join the team.
“Julie is a very experienced leader within the liquor industry, having worked as General Counsel, Director and Company Secretary at Accolade Wines, Non-Executive Director of Drinkwise and Winemakers’ Federation of Australia, and most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Retail Drinks Australia.
“Julie’s industry experience combined with finding new ways to connect with the communities in which we work and live will go a long way to continuing Shane’s work building a strong brand for us externally as well as shape a sustainability strategy for Endeavour Drinks. I’m looking forward to her joining the team.”
Ryan added: “On a personal note, I have a real love for the people, businesses and stories in the liquor industry and I cannot wait to re-engage with them.”
