Exchange for Change (EFC), the scheme coordinator for the container deposit schemes in NSW and the ACT, has appointed a new CEO who starts in the role today.

Danielle Smalley, previously the Chief Operating Officer with the Greater Sydney Commission, was selected following an extensive and competitive selection process.

“Danielle is an outstanding choice, bringing a wealth of experience building and leading high performing teams in the public sector, and working in senior stakeholder engagement, media, issues and project management roles,” EFC Chair Tracy McLeod Howe said.

“This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for EFC, and the Board is looking forward to working with Danielle to ensure EFC continues to deliver on its remit to realise a sustainable future without waste,” she added.

Commenting on her appointment, Smalley said she was excited to be taking on the role.

“I am honoured and excited to have been selected to lead this wonderful organisation.

“Building further on our success is a challenge I accept with confidence, determination and fierce ambition for the organisation. I am passionately committed to placing our suppliers, partners and the community at the absolute centre of everything we do,” Ms Smalley said.

Smalley takes over the position from Janelle Neath, who acted in the role from June 2019.
