Changes to L&G NSW gaming reporting
Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) has released its latest gaming machine data updates.
The latest six-monthly reports for hotels cover the period between 1 July 2019 and 31 December 2019.
Compared to the previous six month period, gaming machines in operations in hotels increased by 78 (but fell by 116 in clubs).
In terms of net profit, in comparison to the same six-month period in 2019 (gaming activity is historically higher in the second half of the year), net profit rose by 6.58 per cent in the state.
While Markets Hotel in Flemington retained the number one ranking in 2019, the Railway Hotel in Lidcombe jumped from fifth to second ranking in the second half of the year. Redcape’s Eastwood Hotel rounded out the top three, jumping forward eight spots from the previous six-month period.
In a move to further the transparency of gaming spending across the state, L&GNSW will now issue reports on a quarterly basis, replacing the current six-monthly reports. The reports continue to include: gaming machine numbers by local government area (LGA); state rankings by gaming machine profit; and state rankings by profit per gaming machine. In a further bid for transparency, L&GNSW has also started to publish a premises list with current liquor licence details for all gaming venues in the state. The premises list will be updated on a monthly basis.
