Three of the stories you can get behind at PLS
The 2019 Pub Leaders Summit takes place in Melbourne on Monday and many of the key personnel behind some of Australia’s biggest pub news stories right now will be there.
There are still some tickets available so if you want to delve deeper and find out more about some of these stories, and the other big issues facing Australia’s pub sector right now, then you should make sure you book your Pub Leaders Summit ticket now.
The venue was previously owned by Open Arms Hospitality and both the CEO of AVC, Paul Waterson and the Director of Open Arms Hospitality Craig Shearer are speaking at PLS. The pair actually line up in the same session: ‘Should I stay or should I grow? How to call the next shot for your business’ which takes place at 2.50pm.
This weekend will also see the largest ever crowd gathering for an A-League Grand Final, when Perth Glory hosts Sydney FC at Optus Stadium. Right next door to Optus is The Camfield, and you will be able to hear from Tim McLernon, General Manager of the Three Pound Group about the venue’s first year in one of the morning sessions, discussing ‘A year in 30 minutes: everything we learned in our first year’. Waterson will also be part of that discussion, along with Lawrence Dowd of Colonial Leisure Group and James Sinclair of Signature Hospitality Group.
This weekend also sees the Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular taking place in Melbourne and understanding about craft beer and many of the key beverage trends is key to every publican. To help with that understanding Steve Jeffares, one of the organisers of GABS and co-founder of Stomping Ground, will be speaking in the session: ‘Turn on the taps: beer, craft and beverage trends revealed’.
He will be joined in that discussion by Matt Skinner of Sand Hill Road, Liam Matthews of Carringbush Hotel and Carl Pavett from Hunter Technologies.
Other speakers on the day include David Canny, President of AHA Vic, Alistair Flower of The Settlers Inn and Jackie Booth from Zagame’s.
