Southern Comfort returns with Southern Sounds
Southern Comfort will return this summer with Southern Sounds, a multi-stage party celebrating the spirit of New Orleans.
Following the success of last year, the event is back bigger and better this year – taking over Commune’s laneway in the Sydney suburb of Waterloo.
On 8 December, one of NOLA’s founding icons of bounce, local musicians, and restaurateurs and drink connoisseurs – namely Earl’s Juke Joint – will pay homage to Southern Comfort and the newest member of the family, Southern Comfort Black.
Southern Comfort Black will be served in a range of different cocktails by the team at Earl’s, who will dig deep into their Louisiana influences to create their drinks.
The laneway itself will be turned into a NOLA-style block party, headlined by Big Freedia, alongside local artists like REMI and Kaiit.
“As the ‘spirit of New Orleans’ it made perfect sense for Southern Comfort to invite over artists like Big Freedia and Sissy Nobby to headline Southern Sounds,” said SouthTrade senior brand manager James Johnstone.
“We also wanted to bring attention to all the great Australian artists inspired by New Orleans such as REMI and Kaiit, drinks by Earls Juke Joint and food by Butter. We’re excited to bring a little slice of New Orleans to Australia – as if you haven’t been – it really is a party like no other!”
Attendance is free, and you can RSVP via Eventbrite.
