Suntory Australia invites local bartenders to enter this year’s Disaronno Mixing Star competition for the chance to win a trip to Sicily.

The winner of the Australian final will be invited to attend ‘The Lab’, a two-day mixology boot camp in Sicily, where they will learn more about the alchemy of liqueurs and distillates, including an in-depth look at organoleptic properties, chemical structure and the production process behind Disaronno.

Bartenders will also have a chance to learn more about the use of senses in perceiving tastes and flavours and what role chemistry plays in this, as well as learning the perfect serve for Disaronno.

Entries close soon, on May 7. To enter bartenders need to head to the competition website and submit an original twist on the classic Disaronno Sour.

The top 25 online entries will be chosen to compete in state finals (five bartenders per state), and the winner of each state final will then battle it out at the national final in Sydney later in the year.
