Magners Irish Cider will roll-out a range of promotional activity in on-premise accounts around Australia for St Patrick’s Day (Mar 17).

Giveaways will include branded St Patrick’s Day hats to patrons that purchase Magners Original or Pear Irish Cider, as well as supplying venues with themed point of sale material.

Key on-premise accounts include Durty Nelly’s and Paddy Maguires in Sydney and Perth, Elephant and Wheelbarrow in Adelaide and Melbourne, The Grand Hotel (Cock & Bull) and Kelly’s on King in Sydney, Bridie O’Reillys in Melbourne, P.J. O’Brien’s and The Irish Club in Adelaide, The Shed in Perth, Tinbilly Travellers in Brisbane as well as Waxy’s and O'Malleys on the Beach in Surfers Paradise.

“St Patrick’s Day is an important opportunity for Magners because it’s 100% imported from Ireland…and activity of this nature allows on-premise accounts to maximise the St Patrick’s Day sales opportunity in their venue,” said Suntory brand manager Andrew Herd.

He explained that since St Patrick Day in Australia is held in warmer conditions than in Europe, Magners is a popular choice of drink to celebrate the event as it was well suited to the local climate.

Earlier this week Club Suntory hosted an exclusive event to reward its NSW members and venues that have supported the Magners brand in the lead up to St Patrick’s Day.

Held at The Island Bar in Cockatoo Island, 350 plus bartenders, bar managers and guest braved the ‘Irish Summer’ conditions, enjoyed Original and Pear Magners and grooved to the sounds of two live bands and a DJ.
