New venue, The Kitchen Cat has opened in Melbourne, with owners Tobie Puttock and Adam Garrisson hoping to combine the spirit of an Italian osteria, with fine local produce, knowledgeable staff and a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Celebrity chef, Tobie Puttock, well-known for his work with Jamie Oliver has developed a menu with a strong focus on taste and flavour.

“Whether you are feeling a bit peckish or dreaming of feasting on a T-bone, the bar at The Kitchen Cat offers the full restaurant menu so you are in charge of your own gastronomic and liquid adventures,” The Kitchen Cat assistant operations manager, Masato Higgs, said.

The wine list features a selection of Australian and international wines, hand-picked to match the menu, and the cocktail list is kept simple and seasonal ranging from house originals to contemporary twists.

“The list is designed to perfectly accompany your unique personality and mood. Our classics list features all the delectable beloveds prepared from a selection of premium spirits the way they should be. Can’t find your poison? Challenge one of our bartenders to create your very own,” Higgs said.

“The bar at The Kitchen Cat offers a chic and sophisticated environment to enjoy your favourite poisons away from the hustle and bustle of city. You will be welcomed by a wide variety of wine, spirits and beers to sip on whilst you enjoy our scrumptious meats from our deli and rotisserie. A perfect place to drop-in to satisfy your guilty pleasures.”

The décor combines raw wood and tan leather, with modern installations added, and a large antique chef’s table has been placed in front of the kitchen to create a traditional communal eating experience. A sleek and sophisticated bar has been included to compliment the culinary side of things.
