Beam Australia bourbon brand ambassador Jared Plummer has departed the company to join Sweet & Chilli as it ramps up operations to cater for its new Diageo Australia on-premise account.

Plummer, the two-time ALIA brand ambassador of the year, told TheShout his exact role and job description is yet to be defined, but he has taken a national role working on the new Diageo account, starting today.

"It is great to be joining the amazing and dynamic team at Sweet & Chilli and I'm really excited for the new challenges," he said.

"It is really early days with Diageo, but I am looking forward to continuing to work on great brands and there are some cool projects on the horizon and I still get to work in a national role with the Australian bartending industry."

Plummer confirmed he will be involved in the recruitment for the new staff that will be joining Sweet & Chilli to work on the Diageo business.

"We definitely need some more desks and we are probably going to need to move offices, but not necessarily out of Surry Hills," he said.

"There will be a big recruitment drive in coming weeks and I will be involved in that. We are going to require at least 10 to 12 new staff members who are passionate, professional industry folk who can also have a bit of fun."

Beam brand director Ray Noble told TheShout Plummer had been "an amazing asset for the business for the last five years".

"It's a shame to see him go but we wish him all the best."
