The semi finalists for the World Class Winter Round have been announced and will be heading to Melbourne to compete on May 20 at the Blue Diamond Club.

Bartenders from across the country entered drinks in one of three categories for the Winter Round – Gentleman’s Cocktail, Hot Drinks and Dessert Serve, with the top three in each category chosen for the semi finals.

The top three in the Gentleman's Cocktail category are Sam Egerton from Felix (NSW), Joel Persson from The Alchemist (VIC) and Dimitri Rtshiladze from Malt Supper Club (WA).

For the Hot Drinks category, the top three are Angus Burton from Canvas (QLD), Jessica Arnott from The Victoria Room (NSW) and Ryan Gavin from Rockpool Bar and Grill (NSW).

In the Dessert Serve category the top three are Glenn Morgan from Canvas (QLD), along with Chris Hysted from Black Pearl/The Attic (VIC) and Daniel Gregory, also from Black Pearl.

In addition, Michael Chiem form Black (by Ezard) has earned himself a spot straight through to the national final, which will be held in June, by scoring the most online votes for his drink.

The nine semi-finalists will be displaying their bartending skills and showcasing their Winter Round cocktails at the classy Blue Diamond Club in the Melbourne CBD, on Sunday May 20th.

Apart from enjoying an afternoon of world class cocktails made with premium spirits such as Don Julio Reposado, Zacapa 23 and Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, guests will also be helping decide on the winners by voting for their favourite drinks on the day.
