Bundaberg Rum has looked to America’s Deep South for the inspiration behind the latest addition to its acclaimed Master Distillers’ Collection.

The sixth rum to be rolled out in the series, the Bundaberg Rum Master Distillers’ Collection (MDC) Two Eighty was crafted within 280 of the world’s finest whiskey barrels from Kentucky, USA, specially sourced for Bundaberg by a team of blenders and distillers.

After combining the reserves from the 280 charred barrels, the rum was left to mature in the Bundaberg Rum Distillery’s state of the art Barrel House facility.

According to a spokesperson for Bundaberg, “the result of this intricate crafting process is a top-shelf rum, rich in flavour with a distinct spicy character and a smooth, clean finish. While complex in flavour and intensity, MDC Two Eighty retains the hallmark Bundaberg Rum taste”.

In a slight variation from the other five expressions in the Master Distillers’ Collection, the MDC Two Eighty boasts a new label structure, as well as a premium tin closure.

A strictly limited number of 60,000 bottles of MDC Two Eighty have been released, with an RRP of $89.99.
