NSW Police have served a temporary closure order on a restaurant in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta on Friday following significant breaches of the Liquor Act.
The Aird Street restaurant will remain closed until 6pm tonight.
Parramatta local area commander, superintendent Robert Redfern, said the closure should serve as an example to all licensed premises in the area.
“The issuing of this order puts all licensees within Parramatta Local Area Command on notice and sends a message that breaches of the law will not be tolerated,” Redfern said. “People serving liquor have to be responsible to their patrons and the public in complying with responsible service of alcohol.”
“Police and the general public will not tolerate anti-social behaviour or alcohol-related crime and where necessary, we will target both individuals and businesses alike to ensure public safety,” he said.
