Retail Drinks Australia has launched its national Retail Drinks Industry Awards, and nominations are now officially open for all award categories.

The awards aim to recognise individuals and companies from the retail liquor industry who have succeeded in business through superior customer service, product knowledge and professionalism.

Retail Drinks CEO, Julie Ryan, said: “I am delighted to be launching the 2019 Retail Drinks Industry Awards which has been significantly revitalised and reimagined from previous Awards Programs run under the former state and territory Liquor Stores Associations.

“As part of this revamped structure, there will be an independent judging process overseen by an experienced and esteemed panel of liquor industry representatives providing impartial and insightful critiques across the Retailer, Flagship and Excellence Awards categories.

“The judging process for the Retailer Awards categories will also consist of a third-party mystery shop carried out by an independently appointed external company. In another value offering to our Members, retailer Members who nominate (free of charge) will receive a complimentary copy of their mystery-shop report valued at $150.

“We are pleased to confirm that there will also be a number of exceptional and unique prizes on offer thanks to the generosity of our Award partners.

“The eventual Award winners will be announced at a formal gala dinner as part of Retail Drinks’ Annual Liquor Retail Summit on Tuesday 29 October,” Ryan said.

Nominations are now open and will close on 31 July, after that the judging and mystery shopper process will commence. The state and territory finalists will be announced in late September with the winners revealed at the awards dinner on 29 October.

Retail Drinks members who wish to nominate, can do so through the Retail Drinks website, where there is also more information on the nomination and judging process.
