National Liquor News is calling on its readers to help shine a light on the unsung legends of the retail world.

This is a different story to what we’d usually have in our newsletters, but it’s one I’ve been excited to write.

In putting together our 2021 Industry Leaders Forum this year, I was so heartened to hear so many stories of resilience, innovation, strength and leadership. Amongst such an incredibly tough year for our country and the entire liquor industry, these stories are the silver linings.

Throughout my role as journalist and now editor at National Liquor News so far, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of hearing and telling the stories of so many retailers. Having the opportunity to showcase such diverse personalities of the industry is a highlight of the job.

With 2020 now firmly behind us and a new year already in full swing so quickly, I think it’s more important than ever that we collectively recognise the hard work of retailers Australia-wide and celebrate all they are.

So I’m calling on you, our readers, to join this movement. I want to hear from you about your go-to bottle shops, your favourite retailer, your most-appreciated colleague, or anyone from the industry you admire.

Drop me a line at ballen@intermedia.com.au with your thoughts, no matter how brief. Looking forward to hearing from you and continuing to shine a light on the great parts of this industry.
