In order to successfully start ‘at-home’ bartending you’ll need to have some bar basics to hand. Here, Danillo Migliorini, DISARONNO® brand ambassador, shares some of his tips, “Ice is a bar essential, make sure you have full ice trays for mixing up some cocktails. For crushed ice simply place into a tea-towel and hit until crushed with a rolling pin or other heavy object. Otherwise you can be pretty sure you’ll need some lemons and limes in the fridge.
“To measure spirits accurately you’ll need a jigger- we recommend a 15 and 30ml double ended one. This makes such a difference to the end taste; cocktail making is a bit like science and the ratio of ingredients is key. A sharp knife, spoon for stirring, a shaker and a strainer also come in handy. Once you have these basics in place- move onto the muddler, peeler and juicer for lemons and limes. Pretty soon you’ll have a decent bar collection.”
