How do alcohol brands reach and influence millennials when so many of them are turned off by traditional forms of advertising?

That’s the question Suzie Shaw, managing director of We Love Social, will address in her keynote presentation at Drinks Innovation Summit on Tuesday in Sydney.

Shaw believes that social media is an effective way to engage younger consumers but that marketers need to be aware that social works differently to advertising.

“All brands and particularly those in the drinks category need to understand the rules of social to not only reach, but credibly engage and persuade young people,” she says.

Shaw’s presentation at Drinks Innovation Summit will identify those rules and explain how brands can more effectively market to millennials by delivering value and building a community around each brand.

Drinks Innovation Summit is the newest event from Food & Beverage Media, publisher of TheShout and National Liquor News. More than 50 experts will offer advice on topics such as marketing techniques, smart packaging, artificial intelligence, hybrid drinks, e-commerce, crowdfunding, cutting-edge marketing and more.

The last tickets for Drinks Innovation Summit, which takes place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Darling Harbour, on Tuesday 29 October, are available here.
