Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum has released a new premium blend and also redesigned its bottle and label to reflect the brand and distillery’s history and Jamaican heritage.

The new Eight Year Old Reserve rum will sit alongside Appleton’s Signature Blend and 12 Year Old Rare Casks Blend in the brand’s core range. The rum is described as having “aromas of spicy fruit and oak, followed by hints of honey, vanilla and Appleton’s signature orange peel note”.

Master Blender Joy Spence says the new rum reflects the terroir of Appleton Estate’s home in Jamaica’s Nassau Valley, with each step of the production process carefully managed – from harvest and creation of our molasses to distillation, blending and bottling.

“Creating our rum is a labour of love and a true art,” Spence said.

“Jamaica has a pulse unlike anywhere else, and this vibrant energy gets channelled into everything we do, especially our world-class rums.”

The new rum will be available in Australia in the new-look bottle, with a new cork closure and label.

Spence added: “We’re unveiling a fresh look for both our permanent collection of rums and our limited-edition versions, while maintaining our commitment to exceptional liquid.

“We hope that our new look and blend elevates the high-end cocktail and sophisticated sipping experience, while continuing to spread the joy of rum, globally.”

The new label tells the story of each rum blend, as well as details on the unique distillation process, including the use of Jamaican limestone-filtered water which is vital to the rum’s richer and fuller flavour profile.

  1. After visiting Appleton’s estate a few years ago my husband and I have been buying Signature blend I have noticed that the label has changed which I think the new one makes the Rum look cheap
