Having witnessed the Black Pearl X Bacardi Collaboration first hand and enjoying a long standing working relationship with Bacardi, the team at Angels’ Cut wondered why Melbournites get to have all the fun.
With the bar firmly pulling its weight as one of the best rum venues in the country, the Angels’ Cut’s James Connolly thought the same style of collaboration would be well received by the bar’s customer base as well as the Perth bartending community.
“After Bacardi legacy in Melbourne and seeing the Black pearl collab I thought ‘this is fucking cool’,” he says. “So I had a chat with our rep Ken and he was just as excited as I was so we set the wheels in motion. And we’re getting super pumped up for it.”
According to Connolly there is plenty in the program for the local bartending community, with Sean Forsyth flying in from Brisbane for trade-specific events
“We’ll be having a legacy session the day after world daiquiri day,” says Connolly. “We will be looking at legacy cocktails from the past, the present – this year’s drinks – and how to create your own legacy for 2016. We’ll also launching the new Bacardi Fuego. Then we’re having a massive hospo night with guest bartenders and it will involve some very rare rum too.”
Having the event in Perth is a great signifier of the importance of the WA bar scene on the national bartending front.
“It’s very important to share the love around and get people and bartenders all over the country excited about events like this happening in their own town,” says Connolly.

This event see’s Angels’ Cut team up with Bacardi to bring to the drinking public, cocktails from past and present, Bacardi will be featured throughout the bar in print form, consumer tastings, rum flights and daily cocktail specials.
Day After the Daiquiri

Monday the 20th of July from 3pm
Bacardi Brand Ambassador Sean Forsyth will show local bartenders how to expertly craft Bacardi Legacy cocktails from past and present and demonstrate how to create your own legacy. Bartenders will also have the opportunity to sample the new Bacardi Fuego.
The night will finish up (or commence?) with daiquiris, guest bartenders and beats.

World Daiquiri Day Party

Let your hair down, pull out your best party dress and put on your dancing shoes. Angels’ Cut and Bacardi are throwing a party of epic proportions to celebrate World Daiquiri Day. Think Latin beats, Cuban cocktails, party food by the Trustee kitchen and good times all round.
