Ballistic Beer Co. is immediately recalling cans and kegs of its Twang Brambleberry Sour Batch 20117 PKD 10/07/20 & PKD 13/07/20, over concerns secondary fermentation.

The refermentation may cause alcohol content to exceed its mark, and could cause cans to pop due to increased carbonation. The brewer said that while the kegs pose no safety issue, the quality of the beer may be impacted by the refermentation issue.

In a statement, Ballistic said: “In the interest of customers’ safety and product quality Ballistic Beer Co. has decided to immediately recall all cans and kegs from the affected batch.

“Consumers with recalled cans can either return them to their retailer for a full refund or they can email a picture of the bottom of the can/s together with their name and postal address to recall@ballisticbeer.com.au and the Ballistic team will send them a replacement can/s of our next Seasonal Beer release when it is released in four to six weeks.”

Ballistic said its representatives are currently contacting retailers and venues to make that all impacted product is removed from sale and stock credited in full.

The recall is for Twang Brambleberry Sour Beer 375ml can (40g), 24x375ml cartons (10kg), the product has been available for sale at liquor stores in NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.

Packed on 10/07/2020 and Best Before 10/04/2021

Packed on 13/07/2020 and Best Before 13/04/2021

Venues who have kegs of this product PKD on July 13, 2020 should contact their ICC sales representative for a full refund.

The brewer added: “Ballistic Beer Co. apologises to retail customers and consumers for any inconvenience caused by this recall.

“We thank our loyal customers and consumers for purchasing our beers and we will be working hard to ensure our future beers meet the high standards you have come to expect from Ballistic Beer Co.”
