Cricketing legend turned beer baron Shane Warne will ring the official bell to sound the opening of the Great Australian Beer Spectapular (GABS) in Melbourne on Friday.

Warne will be at GABS with New Zealand's Moa Brewing Company to promote the pairing's recently released craft beer, 99 Not Out SKW Pale Ale.

As well as beginning proceedings at midday at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, he will be pouring the first few pots of his beer at the event.

GABS attracts leading craft beer brewers from Australia and internationally and will showcase as many as 250 beers (including 120 brand new creative one-off releases) from 130 breweries over three days.

Warne's 99 Not Out – a sessionable 'new world' style pale ale hopped with New Zealand kohatu and cascade hops – will be available at the Moa Brewing Company stand for the duration of the event.
