Board changes at Metcash
Two members of Metcash’s Board have detailed their intentions to step down as Non-Executive Directors following the company’s AGM in August.
Anne Brennan has notified of her intention to step down due to unexpected and unforeseen potential conflicts related to her directorships.
Metcash Chairman Rob Murray said: “Anne has been a strong and valued contributor since joining the Board in March last year, particularly as a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. We understand Anne’s decision and would like to thank her for her considerable efforts and dedication to Metcash during this time.”
He added: “Appropriate protocols have been established to ensure the potential conflicts identified by Anne are managed through to her leaving in late August.”
Metcash also said that Fiona Balfour, who has been a Non-Executive Director for almost nine years, has decided not to stand for re-election at this year’s AGM and will retire at the conclusion of that meeting.
Murray added: “The Board would like to sincerely thank Fiona for her long-term contribution and service to Metcash. Her extensive industry experience has been a tremendous benefit to the Grouip through a period of significant change.
“As Chair of the People and Culture Committee, Fiona has also provided invaluable insight and guided many important changes within the organisation over a long period of time.”
Helen Nash will replace Balfour as the Chair of the People and Culture Committee and Metcash said it is “well advanced” in its search for appropriate replacement Non-Executive Directors.
