This year Champagne Day falls on Friday, October 23rd and to make the most of the annual day the Comité Champagne has created a new platform to bring together international events.

The idea behind #ChampagneDay is simple: to enjoy Champagne and share a glass virtually by toasting with a global community of Champagne lovers, through the Champagne Day website.

The Champagne Bureau Australia is suggesting a number of ideas to safely participate in the global Champagne Day event:

  • Grab a bottle of Champagne to share with friends, from your local retailer
  • Pack a picnic with a bottle of Champagne and sandwiches
  • ‘Champagne Sundowners’ with a socially distant group of friends
  • A virtual Champagne tasting with like-minded Champagne-lovers

Or, you can support your own local restaurant, bar or wine retailer by joining one of their Champagne Day events – a full list of local and international events can be found on the Comité Champagne website.

This global event brings together lovers of the “wine of kings, king of wines” for Champagne related discussions on social networks with casual e-aperitifs or virtual technical tastings all punctuated by the hashtag #ChampagneDay which unites the participants.

The new Champagne platform also gives the opportunity for restaurants, bars and wine retailers to organise events around Champagne, while following local sanitary guidelines and social distancing regulations.

Last year saw 30 million users take part, so make sure you register your event and join in the Champagne Day delights.
