Three leading distribution companies, The Beverage Company, Iconic Beverage Australia and Swift & Moore have united to form the Australian Beverage Group (ABG).

The group, which started this week, brings together key state-based and national distribution platforms to bring members superior support.

Speaking about the, Michael McShane, CEO of Swift & Moore, said: “We are very excited to be part of ABG. Being part of an extended community of people and brand builders is a natural partnership for Swift & Moore and we very much look forward to working with some of Australia’s and the world finest beverages.”

ABG said it is planning to provide superior independent beverage solutions to the Australian market and provide deep local knowledge, face to face engagement and national wholesale support.

Co-Founder and Director of The Beverage Company, Craig Sweet, added: “ABG is a fresh and enterprising alternative that brands have been looking for in the Australian liquor market. ABG brings 80 plus years of liquor distribution and marketing experience supported by some of the best brand builders and salespeople in the country.

“The collaboration of ABG’s partners will ensure an effective route to market for Australian and worldwide brands who need to maintain their independence, while being supported by the innovative approach to distribution and consumer marketing. We are thrilled to be a part of the alliance.”

ABG said the new platform brings a united beverage force that will enhance and build brands that are relevant and enduring.

Dean Terranova the Managing Director of Iconic Beverages, said: “Iconic Beverages is excited and privileged to form ABG with its other members. Our business was founded with a vision to bring together talented industry professionals and world-renowned brands. We look forward to collaboratively building some of the world’s best beverage brands.”

“Strength comes from having intimate knowledge in market and being able to leverage across a National platform. The ABG partners have the ability to play local and act global. Beverage manufacturers are more conscious of their brand equity more than ever and the need to partner with like-minded distributors,” Olde said.
