Multiple wins for Lyre’s at 2019 Concours d’Spirits
The reputation of non-alcoholic spirits brand Lyre’s continues to grow after it collected four medals, including a double gold, at the inaugural SommCon Concours d’Spirits competition.
The competition is organised by The Somm Journal and is an impartial competition of domestic and international spirits judged by sommeliers during SommCon.
The double gold medal was collected by Lyre’s Aperitif Rosso and was one of just five double golds awarded by the judges and the only one bestowed on a non-alcohol product. The brand also received three silver medals for its Orange Sec, White Cane Spirit and Aperitif Dry.
Speaking about the awards, Mark Livings, Co-Founder & CEO, said: “It’s incredibly unexpected and very much appreciated that within six months of launching, our range of Lyre’s non-alcoholic spirits are being recognised this way.
These judges are some of the best credentialed palates in the beverage world, so for our non-alcoholic range to better alcoholic equivalents is virtually unprecedented. Responses like this give us great confidence that our range gives people real freedom to choose and enjoy a low or no alcohol drink.”
The winning liquids are part of the Lyre’s range of 13 non-alcohol variants, which have been crafted to pay homage to the flavours of the world’s most classic and popular spirits.
Lyre’s launched in Australia earlier this year and has already gone global securing distribution in the UK, United States and New Zealand as well as a number of other key markets.
The brand is also planning to launch another SKU, which it says will shake up summer drinking and which TheShout will report on soon.
