The cameras were rolling at one of Balmain’s historic pubs for a new movie starring Naomi Watts, Robyn Wright, Xavier James and Ben Mendelsohn.

The Sir William Wallace Hotel, or 'Willy Wally', played host to a full day's shoot involving a scene at the bar and in the nightclub, taking from 11am to 11pm.

All Willy Wally staff were used as extras in the movie, including manager and barman, Gary Cowan.

"We had fun doing it. The crew and actors were very professional and very personable," Cowan told TheShout. "The locals even got quite excited, and are still talking about it."

Due to be released early 2013, the film is an erotic tale about lifelong friends who fall in love with each others' teenage sons, and is being directed by France's Anne Fontaine, creator of the life story, Coco Chanel.
