The made over Beach Hotel in Byron Bay has announced that renowned Australian chef, Monty Koludrovic, will join the pub’s kitchen for the impending summer season.

Koludrovic will act as a kitchen consultant, working alongside the Beach Hotel’s newly appointed head chef, Shane Morritt to shake up the Hotel’s cuisine offering.

Koludrovic grew up in the Byron area and has made a name for himself through his appearances on Ready Steady Cook. He was also in the creative team of MasterChef: The Professionals.

The new dining menu will showcase an array of wholesome local New South Wales and Queensland produce to both tourists and locals visiting the Beach Hotel in a relaxed and informal manner.

“Patrons can expect a beautiful salad of buffalo milk haloumi from across the border in Queensland, and a delicious local snapper pie from my days cooking at The Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay with the blessing of the pie's creator, Michael Klausen,” said Koludrovic. [continued below]

Other dishes will include beer battered fish made with locally brewed Stone and Wood Lager; salt and Sichuan pepper squid; a chicken parma with fresh and crunchy coleslaw; a new look 'Beachy Burger' and a ‘Beachy Hot Dog’, which incorporates pork crackling, mustard mayo and pickles.

“And for something to share, a locally produced charcuterie for a simple plate of bread and cured meats from Salami Australia and a selection of Bangalow Cheese Co.’s finest for good measure. The finest producers’ plate for two!” Koludrovic added.

The new focus on food and quality cuisine at the Beach Hotel follows on from extensive renovations throughout both the venue’s kitchen and interior.

The Beach Hotel now boasts new furniture and seating areas and artwork from Melbourne street artist Matt Adnate, plus numerous other aesthetic improvements to bars, bathrooms and light fittings.

The Beach Hotel’s new dining options are available now, with Monty Koludrovic in residence throughout the summer season.
