As the name suggests, the bar's main focus is on rum, with a back bar selection of 40 that will continue to grow.

"We are looking to build a 'rum encyclopaedia' in the near future," said bar manager Sunny Wray.

"We also have a cocktail list full of rum classics, and variations of.  We are doing a couple of Zombies, Piña Coladas, Mai Tais, Dark & Stormys and Hemingways… and we also have a dark rum cocktail on tap."

Apart from rum there are also number of draught and bottled beers and ciders to choose from, as well as a small selection of non-rum spirits. The bar also serves up 15 different types of jaffles.

The 80-capacity bar features exposed brickwork, aged timber panelling and a rustic marble bar top.

"There is a set of decks in the corner playing vinyl from the bar's own collection and we also have regular DJs spinning tunes," said Wray.

"And we also have a gorgeous lever press coffee machine and an amazing barista, so we are serving up coffee in the daytime."

The Rum Diary Bar is located at 334 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Melbourne. It is open from 10am till 1am Monday to Wednesday and from 10am to 3am Thursday to Sunday.
