Employees from Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) have once again helped out local communities around the world, contributing thousands of volunteer hours as part of the company’s Global Volunteering Week (GVW).
Over 90 not-for-profit organisations around the world benefitted from the GVW, earlier in May, which is the fifth year that TWE has coordinated the event. Team from every function and region of the business volunteered to help, with activities such as planting trees, packing food hampers, working with members of the community with disabilities and cooking meals.
“Global Volunteering Week provides a great opportunity for employees in every region and function to come together and undertake valuable work in our local communities,” said TWE’s Global Corporate Affairs Director, Carolyn Coon.
“Our Global Volunteering Week has become a key date on the annual calendar at Treasury Wine Estates. We recognise the important role we can play in giving back to the community, and the goodwill GVW generates has a positive impact on both our partner organisations and our teams.”
TWE said the week forms a central pillar in its Corporate Responsibility program, which aims to ensure “the company is a positive force within the communities in which it operates”.
