Popular US IPA, Voodoo Ranger is once again available in Australia and will now be brewed locally at Lion’s Malt Shovel Brewery.

According to Nielsen, Voodoo Ranger is the number one IPA brand family in the USA and is delivering more growth in the US than the top 10 craft breweries combined.

Lion’s global craft arm, Little World Beverages, acquired New Belgium Brewing in 2019 and Lion confirmed the beer will be brewed at the Camperdown brewery in collaboration with New Belgium’s Master Brewer Christian Holbrook.

“The teams have closely collaborated to ensure [the beer] is as packed full of fresh, juicy hop flavour and aroma as the beer flowing from Voodoo Ranger’s hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado,” Lion said.

“Voodoo Ranger IPA (6.8 per cent ABV) is a perfectly balanced west-coast dry-hopped IPA bursting with notes of guava, mango and pineapple with a delicately bitter finish.

“With the USA market saturated with same-same craft, Voodoo Ranger was designed to attract a new generation of beer drinkers that were craft curious and looking for a refreshing and fun alternative to an overly serious craft category.

“Voodoo Ranger has built a cult status in the USA thanks to its bold, edgy and disruptive branding, great tasting range of IPAs and social media led communications.”

Voodoo Ranger IPA cans (355mlx4x4) will be available in Dan Murphy’s stores nationally and other leading retailers from 22 March.

The beer will be seeded on tap initially in selected crafty establishments across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, before rolling out nationally later this year.
