Popular alcohol subscription service Whisky Loot has moved to support Victorian distilleries by launching a Lockdown Legends Box, featuring three premium Victorian whiskies.

Whisky Loot launched in 2017 and each month sends subscribers three 60ml whiskies, which can be domestic or international and Founder Joel Hauer said the company wanted to try and do its bit to help Victorian distilleries hit by the second lockdown.

“Working closely with Victorian distillers, Whisky Loot curated this box on seeing the challenges faced by the industry within the lockdown state,” Hauer said.

“We are really proud to stand behind the industry in Victoria and support them as best we can during this time which is why we are delighted to share this iconic Aussie whisky winter must-have box for our consumers in partnership with some of our favourite distillers.”

Lockdown Legends Box Includes:

  1. The Tanist, Chief’s Son Distillery (VIC) – Honey, sweet vanilla and citrus flavours derive from the American Oak, finishing with the bold rich notes of fruit, toffee and sherry of French oak casks. The Tanist has a taste profile that appeals to a broad range of whisky drinkers or those just discovering whisky. With its soft approachable, easy drinking and big balanced flavours.
  2. Straight Rye, The Gospel Distillery (VIC) – Made from 100% Australian grown rye, this whisky is aged in American oak barrels, giving hints of sweet allspice, dried red fruit and creme caramel.
  3. Solera Cask, Starward Distillery (VIC) – This multi-award-winning whisky has notes of jammy fruits, crème brûlée and spice, finished in Apera casks.

The Lockdown Legends Box is available from the Whisky Loot website for $79.99 + 10 Shipping, or $49 when starting a subscription.

The Whisky Loot move is the latest bid to support Victorian hospitality businesses during lockdown. Earlier this week The Shout reported on the Melbourne Mixtape bottled cocktail pack, which has been created to help support seven of the city’s best cocktail bars.
