The Merivale Group has extended its entertainment empire in Sydney’s CBD with the opening of The Bottle Shop.

Located on Palings Lane alongside Merivale’s latest venue, Ivy, The Bottle Shop offers extended trading hours and an extensive range of Australian and international wines for inner-city dwellers and workers looking to pick up a bottle on their way home or out to dinner.

Frank Moreau, sommelier of Est Restaurant, took on responsibility for the ranging at The Bottle Shop, which he said is based on quality wines that are easily accessibility and offer great value for money.

“It’s the kind of place where good quality selections are easily identified and on hand for fast purchasing. If perusing varieties with a view to finding something a little more special is on the agenda however, we are there to guide and assist,” Moreau said.

To mark the opening of The Bottle Shop, Merivale has launched its own range of boutique wines which will be available exclusively at the store.

Jasper is a sauvignon blanc from Marlborough produced by Highfield Estate Winery, while Felix is a gutsy shiraz from the Barossa Valley produced by winemaker Rolf Binder.

The Bottle Shop also has an impressive boutique wine selection and a range of imported beers.
