Organic Hill is the creation of exciting duo Leon Hill and Tanya Blair who released their first vintage in June of 2016. In combination, the pair have over 30 years’ hands on Liquor Industry experience. Leon’s extensive background in distribution of Spirits and Wines in Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and South Australia and Tanya being 3rd generation Hotelier whose experience in Hotels, Functions, cellar door, Restaurant/café and wine club; has left them with an advantage of industry knowledge.
The pair joined forces in 2014 where Tanya fell in love with the world of Organics – a field in which Leon had been focusing his distribution business on for 5 years. This new-found love and discovery of something truly unique for the liquor industry lead the pair to found Organic Hill.
Organic practices contain no herbicides and no pesticides – “so basically none of the nasty stuff” Organic as a category has increased by 700% over the last 3 years. With many people, not only in Australia but across the globe focusing on long term health and wellbeing, specifically what they are ingesting and the effects these chemicals can have on their bodies. Basically, the world has begun taking a more natural approach to life.
Organic Hill specializes in Organic, Preservative Free, Vegan Friendly, Eco-friendly wine. This year Organic Hill released an Organic Sauvignon Blanc, Organic Pinot Grigio and an Organic Shiraz all NASAA Certified, low preservative wines. Alongside this Organic Hill also released its first vintage of Organic and Preservative Free Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz both NASSA Certified.
Their Organic and Preservative Free 2016 Shiraz received ‘Best value Buy’ under $20 and ‘3 stars’ in Winestates Wine of the Year magazine released last week. Being the only Organic and Preservative Free brand to go up against many other wines outside the organic category and being granted such accolades by a well-respected magazine has left Leon and Tanya speechless with appreciation and an even bigger drive to deliver quality.
