Paul Schaafsma, the former CEO of Accolade Wines has been appointed to the board of New Zealand’s Invivo Wines as an independent director.

Invivo, which is responsible for the Graham Norton range of wines, said that Schaafsma joining its board was an incredible coup for the company.

“We’re over the moon to have a director with Paul’s background and understanding of the wine world,” Invivo’s co-founder Tim Lightbourne said.

“We spent a long time finding the right director to join our board, but when we spoke with Paul it was obvious he shared the same ideas about brand building and standing out from the crowd as we do.

“We look forward to working with Paul to achieve our global ambitions for Invivo.”

Lightbourne added: “In a short space of time Invivo has established itself as a true innovator within the global wine industry. Passion, drive and a clear understanding of what the consumer wants have delivered strong results for the business.”

Schaafsma, who stood down as Accolade’s CEO last year, said that he was looking forward to working with the Invivo team.

“I’m honoured to be joining the Invivo board,” he said. “I have tremendous respect for Tim and Rob and look forward to working with them.”
