Air and surface treatment technology a hit with pubs and clubs
An innovative treatment technology – which operates 24 hours a day to rapidly eliminate viruses and bacteria on surfaces and in the air – is proving to be a hit with pubs and clubs.
The OHAir system, from Hunter Technologies, uses proprietary UV hydroxyl technology to safely treat indoor spaces without using chemicals and eliminates 99.99% of air and surface viruses within one hour, including COVID-19.
The system works by creating hydroxyls – a human-safe, natural, and environmentally friendly free radical which react with pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, moulds and odours. OHAir emits these hydroxyls into the air and on surfaces, eliminating pathogens from the air and surfaces.
Hydroxyl technology was first pioneered by NASA for use in the Space Shuttle and as well as International Space Station and is now used worldwide. The dynamic nature of the hydroxyl molecule results in the destruction of any bacteria and virus it contacts.
The technology has been extensively tested to FDA standards and carries FDA approval as a Class II Medical Device.
Carl Pavett, Managing Director of Hunter Technologies, explains. “These hydroxyls react with the virus shell, rupturing it and effectively eliminating the virus. This unique feature allows for fast, effective and ongoing preventative treatment for indoor spaces and reduces risk for patrons and staff.”
OHAir is proving to be a vital component for venues as part of their COVID-safe strategy. “Pubs and clubs are including OHAir in their COVID strategy to treat high traffic areas, such as gaming rooms, bistros and reception areas. The unique features of OHAir, such as 24 hour operation and rapid treatment of large indoor spaces make it the most effective air and surface treatment system available.”
As well as treating indoor environments for pathogens, OHAir is effective at removing moulds and unpleasant odours and improving air quality.
The system is available as a portable unit suitable for individual rooms or spaces, or as a fixed installation within the air conditioning system for large areas. The system is scalable as needed, operates 24/7 and is easily installed into any venue.
