The Time Out Bar Awards will again celebrate Sydney’s pubs, bars and clubs later this month at brand new Taylor Square venue, The Standard.

The fourth awards night to celebrate the city’s bar culture will be held on Monday, October 24 and also see the launch of the 2012 Bar Guide.

Time Out subscribers and members of the public are invited to join the Time Out team in toasting this year’s winners with cocktails including a Buffalo Trace Maple Old Fashioned, Ultimate Vodka Martini and Green Fairy Original Czech Absinth Wicked Party Punch.

To compliment these tipples, world-renowned chef Lennox Hastie of Spain’s Etxebarri will be at the helm of a one-off pop-up restaurant in partnership with Sydney restaurant gun John Fink (Quay, Otto).

“I jumped at the chance to play ball with the Time Out crew, especially for the bar awards,” says Fink.

“Food is very important for a city’s bar scene. The challenge for Sydney is to move away from the lazy ‘jar food’ and present original tasty treats.”

Cocktails and coal-fired treats will be coupled with a cutting edge line-up of live entertainment, hand-picked by the Time Out editors.

“It's important to us that we put on a great party,” explained Food & Drink Editor, Myffy Rigby.

“Sydney's bartenders work incredibly hard to keep us drinking well, and it’s the least we can do to celebrate all that effort with one incredible night of burlesque, bands, and of course Lennox Hastie’s amazing food.”

Where: The Standard, Level 3, 383 Bourke St, Darlinghurst 2010
When: Monday, 24 Oct 2011, 6.30pm-10.30pm
