A ROSE FOR EVERY TASTE
Rosé wine sales continue to increase worldwide, especially in Australia, where according IWSR country report Rosé’s strong growth continued, and red and rosé’s combined share overtook white for the first time.
Moreover, the Rosé category is popular all year long, so there is no need to wait for the sun with the three Rosé wines offered by Barton & Guestier, as they bring the Summer right to you.
There is a rosé wine for every taste! Barton & Guestier offers a two appellation wines – B&G Côtes de Provence and B&G Rosé d’Anjou, completed with one IGP Pays d’Oc Varietal wine, B&G Réserve Rosé.
Laurent Prada, B&G’s headwinemaker explains the different characters and the de delicate elaboration of rosé wine: “the grapes, harvested during the night, are pressed as soon as they arrive in the cellar, allowing a quick diffusion of the colour in the must. The juice is left a short time in contact with the skins of the grapes, according the intensity of the colour requested. Our B&G Réserve Rosé and our Côtes de Provence are light in colour, with only a few hours skin contact. When the right colour is obtained, the juice is clarified and poured in a tank for fermentation. During the alcoholic fermentation, temperature control is essential. For the Rosé d’Anjou, we cool the wines to stop the fermentation and leave residual sugar. When the fermentation is over the wines continue to age for a few months before fining and final bottling. The three rose wines we offer all have their own identity and style.”
The B&G Réserve Rosé, IGP Pays d’Oc, coming from the Languedoc in the South-East of France is made with Grenache and Syrah grapes. The nose is flattering with intense ripe red fruit aromas of redcurrant and cherry, and also some spicy notes. The wine is crisp and lively on the palate with a lot of red fruit aromas.
B&G Rosé d’Anjou, situated in the Loire Valley, is made of Grolleau and Gamay grapes. The seductive nose is dominated by red fruits of raspberry and cherry. On the palate the wine is soft and smooth, with aromas of small red berries.
B&G Côtes de Provence Rosé is made with Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes coming from our vineyard situated 25 miles from Saint Tropez. The nose is delicate with ripe red berries and white flower aromas. On the palate, the wine offers an explosion of fruit, with a nice refreshing finish.
Guillaume Bladocha, B&G’s Export Director for Asia Pacific explains: « The consumer is at the heart of our strategy and our taste for innovation and pursuit of quality remains as important as in 1725, when the first barrels of wine from our company left from the harbour of Bordeaux. Almost 300 years later, our founder’s pioneering spirit is still inspiring Laurent Prada, B&G headwinemaker and the B&G team. The strong B&G signature with the red letters is an absolute guarantee for quality to the consumer!
