SANYO launches the new CCTV VCC-HD4000 camera with in-built lens.

(Sydney) November 19, 2008 – SANYO, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies, today announced the launch of the new full High Definition (HD) network VCC-HD4000 CCTV camera, ideal for security monitoring in a range of different environments.

The VCC-HD4000 is an impressive four megapixels, approximately nine times more than a conventional (VGA) camera. This means the monitoring area with the SANYO VCC-HD4000 can be enlarged to cover nine times the area of a conventional camera, without compromising image quality and resolution. To ensure image quality and resolution is not lost, images are transferred back to a network server or optional hard drive in their original recorded format.

The new VCC-HD4000 has an in-built 10x optical and 16x digital zoom lens with an auto-focus function, which allows specific objects or people to be focused on with ease. The optical and digital zoom function can be operated remotely for optimum security monitoring. To avoid distortion, the Progressive Scan CMOS Sensor provides clear and sharp images of moving objects.

Quality of the images captured is further enhanced through a range of functions including face detection for easy recognition of subjects, a motion sensor, clipping function and a day/night colour filter to produce quality images even in low light.

A handy in-built SD card slot for local recording and archiving means the recording of images will continue even if the network drops out. There is also an optional external hard drive that can be attached to the base of the camera that can store up to 750GB, so if there are any problems with the network there will be a backup file of the recorded images.

Dual streaming of the VCC-HD4000 means that recording and streaming can be conducted simultaneously in H.264 and JPEG formats which helps to reduce network traffic and bandwidth. The different formats also allow for files to be viewed in high quality and the smaller H.264 files transfer faster, saving hard drive space.

Hassle free connection is provided through the ability to power the unit over the ethernet which means that there is no need for extra cabling to power the unit, saving on installation costs.

The SANYO VCC-HD4000 will be available from December through CCTV dealers. Visit www.sanyo.com.au for more information.

RRP:
SANYO VCC-HD400 – $1,995
Optional external hard drive – $275
