Mo-Town, the funky wine range that set tongues wagging within the young, hip crowd has experienced strong demand since its launch in January this year, in both the independent off premise liquor market as well as on-premise. Sales of the original allocation exceeded expectations, selling out very quickly, with a waiting list for the next.
The brand, which currently features two varietals from South Australia – a Shiraz and Pinot Noir, is due to launch an extension to the range – a Chardonnay also from South Australia, later this year due to consumer demand.
The bold, complex and perfectly balanced flavours of the Shiraz and Pinot Noir have received a number of rave reviews and accolades in the short time they have been on the market. The Pinot Noir has received a Bronze medal and Top Value award from Huon Hooke – one of Australia’s most authoritative voices on wine, also placing the drop at #16 on his list of top 50 Pinot Noir wines reviewed, while the Shiraz received 91 points from Wine Orbit’s Sam Kim and 87 from Wine Reviewer.
The brand looks set to perform just as well in the export market with early signs for demand already looking strong.
